About me

I was born in Belgrade, Serbia, and immigrated to Canada at 13 with my mother and sister. Today, my wife and I have built a wonderful life here, raising two amazing kids. We both grew up in Mississauga, where we met, and after spending ten great years as a family in Oakville, we decided to put down roots in the charming village of Waterdown, the place we proudly call home.

I’ve been self-employed most of my career.  My journey began in 2005 as a carpentry contractor with my company, Armour Fence.  Initially, I focused on seasonal work like building decks and fences, but over time, my services evolved to include year-round home renovations and improvements.

In 2016, after a serious back injury left me unable to work for an extended period, I realized I needed to make a career change.  By then, my wife and I had purchased, renovated, and sold a couple of properties, and I’d become deeply attuned to the local real estate market.  Transitioning to real estate felt like the natural next step.  One that allowed me to bring my extensive experience in construction and home improvement to the table.  The guidance I am able to offer clients is exactly what I wish I had when I was a young, ambitious first-time homebuyer looking to make some sweat equity in our home.

More recently, I took on a new challenge and became a registered house designer.  I’ve always had a passion for building, and I’m excited to now be able to include drafting of designs and construction plans to my list of services.  Drafting designs and construction plans on projects like custom home builds, additions, ARUs (Additional Residential Units), and more.

My approach to business is simple: keep improving my craft and let my work speak for itself.  As a contractor, I relied almost entirely on word-of-mouth, staying consistently busy for over 18 years after just one year of advertising.  In 2019, I closed my construction business to focus solely on real estate, but in 2022, when the real estate market slowed due to rising interest rates, I knew I needed to pivot once again.  With the support of friends and colleagues, I’ve reopened my doors in contracting while continuing my real estate career, and I’ve been fortunate to stay busy in both fields, thanks to their referrals.

As grateful as I am for my referrals, I would be selling myself short if I only credited others for the success I've had so far with minimal campaigning.  After all, whether in contracting or real estate, the jobs I'm tasked with require a high degree of responsibility and competence.  If I had to speak for myself on why I think people feel comfortable recommending me, I’d say it’s because they know I’m dependable and trustworthy.  When I take on a task, I approach it with integrity and a commitment to doing what is right - no exceptions.
